TACTICAL REGENERATION | THESIS | EAST NEW YORK | 2014
Three problematic dimensions are required on the site for regenerative architecture to successfully emerge. The first being decomposition, neglected and under-utilized space(s) or building(s). The second being impasse, infrastructural blockage(s) made uncrossable for nearby dwellings. And the third dimension being displacement of individuals, such as refugees who have no fixed place or home. Regenerative architecture takes advantage of neglected “no-man’s land” for its potential occupation and new urban organization(s). Being able to take control of their life and construct their identities with a full positivity is the primary objective for regenerative architecture.
